We’ve been busy! It’s summer time on the farm & we have been hosting many youth groups from across the islands. This week we have a local church group from Kauai & earlier we had Young Life Oahu & Ku A’e Hou also from Oahu. Young Life even built a traditional imu while they were here.

Living as Christians, we are, of course, under the New Covenant, but there is both much wisdom & much beautiful poetry in the Old Testament. On this, we will admit, lazy summer Sunday, we reviews the Proverbs of Solomon & found much to contemplate about our place in this world, material possessions & helping others.

Makanalani was thrilled to host ABLE Ministries on July 10. This is a special needs group & they brought both VIPs & their sidekicks for a day of fun. Everyone arrived by bus for an action filled day which included a tour of our farm animals, games, devotions & small group time. We are so pleased

Looking for worthwhile activities this summer? How about Hume camp? It’s at Camp Hale Koa-Kokee on July 11 to the 15th. The camp is for junior high & high school youth. They will be examining the life of Elijah & challenge students to proclaim God’s truth in an ungodly culture. Sadly, there are no scholarships

Celebrate the 4th on the North Shore this year if you’re on Kauai with the fellowship of the Kauai Christian Fellowship. It’s all happening at Anini Beach Park and runs from 11am – 3pm. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs & drinks. Bring a side dish to share, or something to cook on the grill.
