Over the next few days, we’d like to share information about a few of our favorites with you.
You may have heard of the astonishing local boy, Makana. We, of course, share part of a name with him… Makana means gift in Hawaiian, & his music is a gift for your heart & soul.
In addition to Hawaiian music, Makana performs his world music all over the globe… & sometimes we get lucky & he stops by Kauai.
He has shows coming up this month & next in Cayucos, California, Kona on the Big Island & Honolulu, so if you’re going to be in any of those places, get more details at makanamusic.com.
A local boy, Makana was raised on the shores of Waikiki. He began sining when he was seven years old & started playing ‘ukulele at nine, slack key guitar at eleven. In three short years he was performing professionally. He is truly a virtuoso of slack key & an inspiring performer.
