We are closing out for the year! November was busier than expected, leading to a fun-filled month of groups at the Kids House. Join us as we share from this rainy November!
- A Busier November -
Historically at the Kids House November tends to be one of our slowest months of the year, but not in 2025! We had a last-minute influx of requests which led to our calendar filling up and ending the year on a high note! From church family days to school visits, retreats, and events… we had a jam-packed month!
- Learning with Aloha -
We were blessed this month to connect with Aloha School and bring out one of their preschool classes to spend some days at Makanalani! Fun days were spent all across the farm giving these littles so many opportunities for joy and learning. Going to see the mini donkeys, fun on the slip and slide, flying high on the swings, creating artistic masterpieces, and wrapping up the days with story time and naps. Full days of enrichment to get kids up and moving out in nature!
- Colorful Days after the Gray -
A highlight of the month came among the darkest days. With endless rain, our planned visit for Koloa Missionary Church Kids seemed like it was going to be a wash. However, waking up in the morning of their visit we were greeted with clear skies and lots of sunshine! With bright swimsuits and freshly watered grass the colors of the day truly popped! The smiles are a testament toward how the day went and the memories that were made.
- Hawaii Leadership Residency -
Wrapping up the year!
It’s been a busy month of work and fun! As this session of HLR comes to a close these residents have been working hard to finish their season on Kauai on a high note. From the hard work on the farm, to fun and games at the Kids House, to even soaking in the quiet moments of simply reading stories to the little kids during nap time. These residents have put their full hearts into their work! This session has been delightful, and it’s a bittersweet goodbye as they move on to what is next!
