Happy New Year! We're so grateful for all the amazing things we got to experience in 2022. We're stoked that 2023 is already off to a great start!
Aloha Little Cranberry
Over the last couple months of the year, we got to welcome a brand new baby donkey to our family! This little foal, named Cranberry, was born around Thanksgiving! He/She (still unsure) is the baby of our beloved girl, Midnight. She’s popped out more babies than we can count at this point but she just loves being a mama and is the best mom to her babies!
Dairy Days
In December a little group of homeschoolers got to come to Makanalani for a farm tour! Not many groups get to do this, but this group was lucky enough to try their hand at milking our lovely dairy cows. Now that is an experience they will never forget! Who knows, we might even have our next generation of dairy farmers from this group!
Spring Interns Are Here!
This month we got to welcome our Spring Interns! Spring is such a fun session; there are more kids groups coming through, farm days aren’t quite as rainy as in the winter time, our citrus starts fruiting a bit more, there’s fun holidays to celebrate as an Ohana, and the beaches are beautiful! We are so excited for this group of interns! They are adventurous and excited to serve!

CBI Kauai
Calvary Bible Institute is a new bible college on island. CBI Kauai is partnered with Calvary Chapel Lihue and has 21 students for their very first semester. They got to start this semester off with a really fun retreat up at Makanalani! We can’t think of a better way to break the ice, get refreshed, and get focused for an amazing semester ahead! We wish the best of luck to all these new students!
