We love any opportunity to meet up with friends and family and celebrate all that is good in life, and we love the hard working and dedicated people who work so hard to constantly think up and put on the wonderful and diverse array of events that we are so blessed to have the chance to enjoy here on Kauai. And this one is really something!
From November 16th to 18th there will be a Old Time Gathering held at Kokee Lodge, celebrating all that was best about the good old days with music and workshops. You can enjoy live music from: LosKauaianos, Foghorn Stringband, Cajun Country Revival, RoochieToochie & The Ragtime Shepherd Kings, Ann Savoy, Ed Punua, Appalachian Hippie Poet & Nick Castillo, Fanny Guys, Lowbiscus, Kilin Reece, Don Musel, Ted Shanks, and enjoy Square Dancing with the Square Dance Callers Daniel Frazier & Stan Sharp. And take workshops on: Banjo, fiddle, guitar, pakini, bass; Leo Ki’eki’e, Blacksmithing & basket making, Kachi Kachi Music & Dancing, Country Square Dancing & Cajun Two-Step. And if none of that catches your interest you can also volunteer with Kauai Resource Conservation to learn about endemic plants and remove invasive plants.
It’s all happening at Kokee! There will be two stages set up one of which will be indoor in case of rain and Puerto Rican, Mexican, Cajun & local-style food from chef Kulia Fu to enjoy! The meal plan costs $100 and includes 8 meals served at Kokee Lodge (Thursday dinner, 3 meals Friday, 3 meals Saturday, Sunday breakfast). Tickets for the whole weekend are $50, and although all the private cabins are already booked up, there is still shared cabin and camping space available with shower, bathroom, and shared kitchen facilities all available at the site.
