There is a huge amount of seasonal musical entertainment coming up this month and I just hope we have space to tell you about all of them!
We really are blessed with all our musical treats to be had, whether it’s harp or carol sing-a-longs and this one is no exception. Six concerts from Kauai keiki at various stages of their educational careers are to be enjoyed over the coming month.
• The Kauai Community College Jazz Ensemble and Wind Symphony Winter Concert will be on Tuesday, December 5th, at 7:00 pm. The Jazz Ensemble will be performing a variety of music from Glenn Miller’s “Jingle Bells” to Quincy Jones’ “I Can’t Stop Lovin’ You.” And The Wind Symphony’s pieces include the Leroy Anderson classic: “A Christmas Festival.” This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Kauai Veteran’s Center.
• The Kauai Community College Symphony Orchestra Winter Concert will be on Thursday, December 7th, at 7:00 pm. Featuring music from Bizet’s Symphony No. 1 in C to a full orchestra arrangement of Monti’s Czardas. This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Kapaa Missionary Church.
• The Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Beginning Band Preview Concert will be on Monday, December 11th, at 6:30 pm. Featuring over 130 beginning band students in grades 6-8. This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Kilohana Playcourt.
• Kauai High School Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, December, 13th, at 6:30 pm. Holiday Music is the theme for this concert with Wind Symphony, Jazz Band, Ukulele Band and Chorus. This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall and they are accepting donations too.
• Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Band Winter Concert will be on Monday, December 18th, at 6:30 pm. With music featuring the Jazz Band, 2nd Year, and 3rd Year Bands. This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Kilohana Playcourt.
• The Kauai All-Island Band Field Show Performance will be on Friday, December 22nd, at 5:30 pm. Where you get a chance to see the Kauai All-Island Band’s Field Show for their competition in the Holiday Bowl Parade and Game in San Diego. This FREE concert can be enjoyed at Vidinha Football Stadium.
