Kamehameha Basketball Clinic, Shepherd Training for the Interns, and Naikela Joins the Hanalei Farmers’ Market — Dec 5, 2017

December is a slower month for the Kids House at Makanalani as churches gear up for the Christmas season and families begin the holiday hustle. But this past weekend we were so fortunate to have the Kamehameha Basketball Team stay for a long weekend. These kids held a clinic at a local gym, where they accepted canned goods that they then donated to Makanalani. We are grateful for their generosity and thoughtfulness, and excited to bless others with their gift.

Oh the many things our interns are learning this fall, not the least of these being the demanding job of a shepherd! We keep, on average, about 200 sheep in our pastures at the farm, and they require a lot of TLC. Take a look…

Naikela Botanicals is our organic superfood tea powder that is grown, harvested, dried, blended, and packaged all on our farm! We are very excited to have recently been accepted at the Hanalei Farmers’ Market, giving us yet another venue in which to sell these incredible teas.
