How do you feel about watching Jurassic Park in one of its filming locations? We all know that the dino-tastic movie was filmed in part on Kauai, but did you know the scenes where they find the Velociraptor eggs was filmed in the Allerton Gardens? (I hope we haven’t just given you a spoiler!) The trees where the eggs are found are actually Moreton Bay Figs from Australia and there’s a great short video about them here.
On Saturday, August 19th, starting at 5 pm you can join in the Jurassic fun at the McBryde Garden. There’s going to be family-friendly activities with KCC Cognition Learning Center, and food from Kauai’s favorite food trucks and restaurants to purchase before the movie.
It costs $10 for adults, and $5 for keiki, and it’s free for NTBG members. Prices will go up at the door. The parking is free though and a shuttle takes you into the garden where you can hunt for those elusive dinosaurs before the movie starts. To buy tickets or find out more visit the NTBG website here.
