Ok we’ll admit, this sounds a little dramatic, but it’s actually a really great initiative. CERT trains people to be prepared for disasters of any kind, and more importantly to take care of themselves, family, friends and neighbors. On a island that has a hurricane season running from June to November we think it’s a really great idea.
The program trains people to assist professional responders as and when needed. If this sounds like something you’d like to learn you can attend one of the FREE training days held by the Kauai Fire Department.
The upcoming dates are: Tuesdays, January 24th and 31st in Princeville at Sunset Drive Clubhouse, and Wednesdays, January 18th, and 25th in Hanapepe at Hanapepe Library.
