The Kauai Independent Food Bank is collecting donations to help the poor and needy in our community. Even if we don’t have much ourselves, you can always find a little something to donate. They aren’t asking for extravagant items, and every donation is gratefully appreciated, and will go to help someone in need. There are many things the bible says about the gift of charity, such as;
Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ “
Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor is lending to the LORD— the benefit of his gift will return to him in abundance.
Their most needed items include: rice and grains, pasta and pasta sauce, canned proteins, soups and stews, vegetables and fruit, peanut butter, powdered milk and hot and cold cereal.
If you’d rather donate money, or have perishable food items these can be dropped of at their Nawiliwili warehouse from 8am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Other food donations can be dropped off at any County of Kauai Fire Station as well.
