Our great experience with Kanuikapono Public Charter School made us wonder what other charter schools there are on Kauai, so we thought we would take a look. One of the things that we found in our research is the Kanuikapono is one of the highest rated. After our experience with this, this comes as no surprise.

Kawaikini in Puhi. They teach in both English & Olelo Hawaiian. They “envision a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and healthy community where the language, beliefs and practices of the indigenous people of Hawaiʻi have become instinctive.”
Kula Aupuni Niihau A Kahelelani Aloha has been around since 1999. It is the Niihau School of Kekaha & also provides bilingual education in English & Hawaiian, while preserving Niihau cultural values.

We are happy to find such schools here on Kauai who are preserving the Hawaiian culture. Culture adds so much to the sense of identity that is essential for the success of youth & the preservation of the Hawaiian culture is, of course, something we prize.
