We’ve talked about classical Christian art on this blog a few times. But what about contemporary artists?
The are many fabulously talented contemporary Christian artists out there. In the next few posts, we’ll share some of our favorites with you.
Today, Mark Lawrence.
This quotation from him sums up his art beautifully:
“The Christian art I create is not an attempt to depict a likeness, nor an image of anything to be worshiped here on earth, or in heaven above. My art is created to point all people to Jesus Christ who is worthy of all of our honor, glory and praise.”
His art is abstract, brining us to the essence, rather than the surface, of the subject.
Born in Florida & living in Georgia. He studied business administration & ran a small mortgage company… until tough times hit in the 1990s. It was then that he became born again, & to our joy returned to his love of painting. He studies the Bible every day for inspiration & continues to seek God’s window & direction in his life — & we think in shows in his beautiful art.
