As you can see from our last few posts, Makanalani is all about nature & appreciation for the glorious natural world Our Lord has given to us.
We thought it might be fun to look up some scripture that talks about nature. The Bible is wonderful poetry as well as words to live by, & the writers certainly were adept at expressing their wonder & appreciation for all of creation.
Please enjoy these passages.
This one particularly speaks to us at Makanalani, since our animals teach us so much.
Job 12:7-9
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
And this, for those times when we become so busy that we might forget to trust in The Lord.
Matthew 6:26-29
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

Psalm 104:14-21
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for people to use, to bring forth food from the earth, and wine to gladden the human heart, oil to make the face shine, and bread to strengthen the human heart. The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has its home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the coneys. You have made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the animals of the forest come creeping out. The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God.
