September has come to a close. A good season of refreshment and restructuring before heading into the busiest month of fall.
Come and see what Makanalani has been doing this month!
September in Summary
We’ve had a very productive month at the Kids House! This month had a little of everything. Church Retreats for local men and women, a young adult worship night, and a night for cooking and discipleship for local kids!
In addition, we also had time and opportunity to get a lot of repairs done around the Kids House! Upgrades to our solar, fixing electrical issues, and plumbing repairs. There’s always something to be worked on, and we are so thankful to everyone who worked hard to get these jobs done!
Overall, it has been a very productive September! Time to keep this momentum up for the rest of 2024!
Pickleball and Worship!
Makanalani Pickleball is finally complete! To celebrate, we gathered a bunch of Young Adults from around the island to have a fun evening of community, games, and a worship night to wrap it all up! Such a fun day to kick off the start off all of the fun that is to come with the new courts!
Aloha New Interns!
The Start of Hawaii Leadership Residence!
It’s the start of a new season, and with that come new interns! This session of the Hawaii Leadership Residence has been off to a strong start. 14 Young Adults from all over the US are here and are ready to lean in to growing and serving the community here at Makanalani!
We ask you to please join us in praying for this crew for their safety, fun, and spiritual growth in these next few months!
Youth Cooking Adventures!
We had the opportunity to host a youth Cooking and Discipleship group this month! Getting to take a night to gather local youth together to learn life skills, make friends, and growing closer to God. It’s always a pleasure to see how full the kitchen can get, and even more special when the kids are the ones using it!
