2024 has been off to a beautiful start! As the weather cools and wind blows by, we have been filling up our calendar for all the fun to come this year!
Camps, Retreats, and Farm Days!
We’ve been off to a strong start in 2024! With all different groups with kids and adults alike. We’ve been super blessed this month to host church children’s groups, school groups, Pastor’s events, and retreats such as Wild at Heart and Captivating!
It’s always a joy seeing the property so lively and seeing the youth take full advantage of exploring and appreciating every part!
Farm Life
The farm has been flourishing amongst the beautiful weather this Winter! Our mini donkeys have been getting special attention with all of the visiting groups coming by to give them extra treats. And our citrus has been booming with lots and lots of produce! We’ve had our hands full trying to keep up with it!
Make sure to visit the Farmers Markets in Kilauea or Hanalei every Saturday if you want to taste some Makanalani products yourself!
Spring 2024 Interns
In this new year we’re blessed to have another session of young adults new and returning to be a part of our internship program! These interns come in to serve and work hard on the farm in order to ensure a great experience for everyone who stays!
They work hard keeping the farm clean and upkept, hosting activities for the kids, and making our products that we sell at the Farmers Markets!
Make sure to give them a warm welcome if you see them around the island!
A Very Special Day!
Our interns had the incredible opportunity to work with ABLE Ministries in their annual Special Needs Prom! We are so blessed to be involved and help support this group that does such incredible work for the special needs community on Kaua’i.
Able is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the special needs community of Kaua’i and is overseen by Lihue Missionary Church. This ministry offers consistent monthly social events, activities for individuals with special needs, a support group for parents with special needs children, along with other opprotunities.
