The final road update, an exciting announcement, groups we’ve had at the Kids House, and to introduce our Fall interns!

We Crossed the Finish Line!

We did it! We can’t express how thankful we are for your support to help us fundraise $30,000 for our roads! When we started this, we had no idea how or how much we would be able to raise, but here we are, amazed and grateful for how great our God is.

New and improved roads thanks to Schuber Mitchell Homes

A huge thanks to Schuber Mitchell Homes for even making this a possibility for us. And to you, our Makanalani Ohana, we could not have done this without your support and generosity. Thank you for believing in our mission and sharing in our heart to bring kids to camp for free. We are now able to host groups of ALL sizes. Whether they get here in big buses or small compact cars, all groups will get to enjoy a smooth ride to the Kids House without worrying about getting stuck in holes. Here’s to new smooth roads!

Oahu Ohana

Hosting group hanging out of the beach

We had the privileged of hosting not one, but two groups from Oahu this month! We love being able to open up the Kids House to groups from other islands so they can experience the beauty of Kauai. It is truly unique compared to the 7 other Hawaiian Islands. Some had not been to the island or the property before so we were stoked to show them around the property and pastures!

Find Us at the Market!

Our stand/ spot at the Anaina Hou Farmers Market in Kilauea!

This has been a long time coming, but we are happy to say we have FINALLY secured a spot at the Anaina Hou Farmers Market in Kilauea! If you’ve ever been to this Saturday morning market you know it is bursting with fresh produce, handmade goods, and delicious local food and products! We will be selling a variety of fruit from our farm, Naikela Tea, Honey, Hydrosols (the exact ones we revealed to you in August!), and our NEWEST items, the Guava Jam and Lemon Curd by Seasoned by Aloha! If you weren’t here for the August newsletter, we have rolled out a new brand called Seasoned by Aloha which will feature farm fresh products that we produce in-house with the help of our lovely interns. We hope to produce yummy jams, chocolates, varieties of honey, and more! If you live on island, we would love to see you at the market!

Meet the Fall Interns!

Makanalani Fall Interns eating at a table together

Fall Interns are here! We have about 16 interns with us this session and we’re stoked on this group and their hearts to serve and be flexible with all the craziness going on around us. Our Hanalei shop is still pretty understaffed and they’ve been a huge help in keeping us open. We are excited to see how they grow in these upcoming months!
