Despite it’s darker origins as a day to honor martyrs of the faith Valentine’s Day has become a day known throughout the world to show our love for the ones we hold dear.
It can be a tough day for some, we can’t deny that there can be societal pressure to be seen in a relationship whether that comes from the world around you or family and friends. If you find yourself feeling lonely or pressure from others then please just remember there is one person who loves you more than you could ever imagine. His love is so great it cannot be contained, and it’s unconditional. God will always love you, God will never let you down, and when times are hard God is always there, He will always listen, He will never be too busy, He will always have time for you, He is our refuge and our salvation and His love is greater than you could ever comprehend. And that’s something you can remind others of too!
God’s love is steadfast and unchanging, it comforts us as these verses from the Bible show us:

19 We love because he first loved us.’

17 The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.’

3 The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.’
‘1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.’

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.’

Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.’
