Are You Feeling The New Year Bloat?

Are you feeling a little bloated after the New Year and Christmas celebrations? Does the thought of eggnog or one more slice of pie have you staring wistfully at your waistband? Is the dog feeling neglected? Well you aren’t alone, or wrong. Many people feel that they have overindulged during the holidays and then feel guilt over it after, well maybe you should reconsider that line of thinking. After all our bodies are a gift from God, the food on our table a gift from God, the friends and family we celebrated Jesus’ birth with and broke bread with – all a gift from God.

So with this it’s plain to see that we should not feel bad for the gifts God brings, or the time spent with loved ones celebrating His birth, and if we are feeling a little overindulged and that maybe we need to respect the temple of our bodies a little more, well that’s easy to do, all we need to do is head outside.

Living on Kauai means that (almost) aways the weather and temperature are pleasant, so that we can take a short stroll, a hike or run on the beach or even a marathon if you we are feeling adventurous, in fact there is one coming up.

Hosted by Pu’uwai Canoe Club on the first Saturday of the New Year, the Resolution Run winds through the newly opened public trails at Hokuala resort in Lihue. It’s a opportunity to experience trails and scenic views you never knew existed. Keiki and leashed dogs are also welcome so all can enjoy God’s glorious gift to us all. If you don’t feel up to a marathon just take a short walk or sit outside to appreciate all that God has done for you. If you like the idea of running a marathon though the Resolution Run with be held on Saturday, January 5th starting at 8:00 am at Hokuala Kauai, 3551 Ho’olaulea Way, Lihu‘e. You can call 635-6311 to find out more.

‘1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.’

‘1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.’
