17th Annual Heiva I Kaua`i

God blesses us in many ways, so many ways that it would take an eternity to count them all! And one of those blessings is our beautiful island home and the rich history and culture that we are lucky enough to live amongst.

We love events such as this one, the 17th Annual Heiva I Kaua`i, this Tahitian dance competition brings together people from Hawaii and Tahiti to celebrate though song, dance and of course food! Held at Kapaa Beach park on the weekend of August 4th to 5th this event is open to all, daily admission costs $7 for adults but it’s free for keiki under 12 to attend.

There will be lots on offer, and something for everyone with: Group and Solo Tahitian Dance and Drumming Competitions (including an amateur youth category), professional Tahitian Dance and Fire Knife Dance exhibitions daily, best costume award, and cultural demonstrations. There will also be crafts to buy with the focus on Tahitian products so maybe it’s a (dare we say it?) great opportunity to pick up an unique and early Christmas gift or two!
