Memorial Ti Leaf Lei-Making Workshop

On Saturday, June 23rd from 9am until Noon there will be a Ti Leaf Lei-Making Workshop
in Memory of the People of Kalaupapa. Hosted by ReSource for Christian Spirituality and held at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church (click on their name to be taken to their website).
All the churches of Kauai are invited to attend this workshop and if possible to bring donations of green Ti Leaf to help makes these leis that will than be placed on every known grave in Kalaupapa on Saturday, June 30th. This is done in support of “Lei Hali’a O Kalaupapa” which is also known as Kalaupapa Independence Day.

Kalaupapa is a small community on the island of Molokaʻi. Located at the base of some of the worlds tallest sea cliffs it was a settlement and home to patients afflicted with leprosy who moved there from the original leper colony at Kalawao.
