FREE Movie Night! Steve McQueen American Icon

It’s quite timely that we bring the attention of this event to you as one of the last people Steve McQueen spoke to was Billy Graham! At this time Steve McQueen was desperately ill and dying from cancer. Billy Graham spoke at length with him staying until he was taken to be flown to an hospital for surgery. As McQueen had lost his Bible Billy Graham gave him his own, personally inscribed and prayed with him.

Now does this come as a surprise to some of you? Most of us will recall Steve McQueen as a ‘tough guy’ actor and if you know a little more about the man you also know that he had quite the troubled life. Well that all changed in his later years when after years of partying and wild and reckless living he felt that his star was fading and that there was more to life. There is, and HE knows it, and HE is always there, waiting for you to reach out and open your heart to HIM, and that’s just what Steve McQueen did.

People around him could tell the difference and said that he flourished under God’s guiding light. Before he died he had one last wish, and that was to make a movie telling of his journey to God, and that’s exactly what this is, a story of a man who came from nothing, got it all and still had something missing – God.

On Sunday, March 4th you can see this inspirational movie for yourself at Calvary Chapel. Lihue, the movie starts at 6:30 pm and it’s free to all. If you’d like to know more about it you can visit the website Steve McQueen American Icon by clicking on his name.
