Makanalani – Why did you apply to become a Makanalani Intern?
Matthew – I applied because I felt I needed something to help me jump start my faith in God back on track and to grow as a man of God.
Makanalani – What is your favorite thing about the internship so far?
Matthew – My favorite thing about the internship so far is how accessible and convenient everything is for us. We have cars, we have food, we have a big beautiful house to stay in, I mean what else can you ask for?
Makanalani – What has God been teaching you since you arrived?
Matthew – Mainly God has been teaching me how to be a man of God and what that means, as well as being able to truly trust in Him with my life.
Makanalani – Where is your favorite spot on the island?
Matthew – My favorite spot so far has to be the canyon.
Makanalani – What advice would you give to someone who is interested in applying?
Matthew – My advice would be pray pray pray. Make sure God is telling you to go. I didn’t want to come for the wrong reasons, and I believe God showed me that I wasn’t.
