Did you know that The Waimea Town Celebration is Kauai’s largest and oldest festival! Celebrating the history and community of the West Side of Kauai with 9 days of events starting on Saturday, February 17th and ending on Sunday the 25th of February.

•Saturday, February 17, 6:30-10 pm Kauai Cocktails & Cuisine – Jack Ass Ginger
Sample 8 different types of Moscow mules in a commemorative copper cup and local cuisine from popular Kauaʻi food trucks. With country music by Keola Akau. Must be 21 years or older for entry. •Sunday, February 18, 9 am Mānā Time Trial – Bike Race
​The Mānā Time Trial is a competitive bicycle road race for cyclists and triathletes. •Sunday, February 18, 5-8 pm King Kaumualiʻi Celebration

•Wednesday, February 21, 6:30-8:30 pm Ambassador Of Aloha & Music Concert

•February 22-25  Slow Pitch Softball Tournament
Teams from across Hawaii compete in a double elimination tournament (ASA rules with a few modifications). Admission for spectators is Free. •February 23-24  Heritage Of Aloha Hoʻolauleʻa
Our 2-day finale includes continuous live entertainment on a big stage, local food booths, games and rides for keiki, craft and merchandise vendors, a silent auction and a beer garden that includes wine and Kauai’s own Kōloa Rum. Please be sure to purchase your souvenir festival t-shirt! 5:30 pm – midnight (Fri) and 10 am – midnight (Sat). At Waimeaʻs Old Sugar Mill Site. Free Admission: All ages welcome. •February 23-24  Waimea Round Up Rodeo
​The largest traditional rodeo in all of the Hawaiian Islands features events like the Paniolo Poʻowalu and Double Mugging which are unique to Hawaiʻi Rodeos. ​9am-till pau (Fri) and 9am-3 pm (Sat). •February 23-24  3-On-3 Basketball Tournament
​This is the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the island and benefits the Westside Basketball Club. The cost is $10/player (school division) and $25/player (adult division). •Saturday, February 24, 7 am  Fun Run (10K, 5K, 2K Races)
​The 41st Annual Captain Cook Caper Run benefits Waimea High Schoolʻs JROTC Program. Cost is $30/Adults and $25/Students (17 years and younger). Register online or at the Heritage of Aloha Hoʻolauleʻa (Old Waimea Mill Site) on Friday (2.23.18) from 4:30-10 pm. Late Registration is $40. Race starts at Waimea Plantation Cottages. Make lei appropriate for cowboy hats and enter 1 of 2 categories: “Most Beautiful” (use only fresh materials) and “Most Unique” (any material is acceptable). Awards will be given at 3:30 pm on Saturday. Lei become the property of the Visitorʻs Center and sold to benefit their programs. At West Kauaʻi Visitor Center. •Saturday, February 24, 11:30 am Super Duper 2ʻS Ice Cream Eating Contest
Super Duper 2ʻs Ice Cream Eating Contest is Free to participate. Sign up at 11:30 am next to the big stage at the Heritage of Aloha Hoʻolauleʻa. •Sunday, February 25, 1 pm Scottyʻs Music ʻUkulele Contest
Rules are (1) 3 minutes maximum per song; (2) 1 song per entry; (3) Soloists only, no groups allowed; (4) Judged on presentation, tone, showmanship, difficulty of song and overall performance. Only ʻukulele talent will be judged (not singing). Age groups: Up to 6th grade; 7th to 9th grade; 10th to 12th grade; and Adults. All entries will win a prize. ʻUkulele awarded to 1st place winners and to the “Best ʻUkulele Picker” in memory of Byron Hahn-Morin.
