The origins of Valentine’s Day aren’t quite as romantic as the day itself would suggest. Did you know that it started as a Church Holiday to honor martyrs of the faith? And that Valentines themselves have been recorded being sent as far back as the Middle Ages!
Although the day’s meaning and celebrations may have changed over time one thing hasn’t – and that is God’s love for you. God loves us more than we can ever imagine, it is unconditional, everlasting, God is love and the love he has for us is indescribable, overwhelming and for everyone.
So no matter what you are doing this Valentine’s day, you will never be alone or unloved for God is always with you.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
