Meet the New Interns! – Trea Mitchell

We are blessed to have another group of enthusiastic young God loving interns with us here at Makanalani and we thought it would be fun to introduce you all to them by way of a short interview. First up we have Trea Mitchell from Idaho!

M – Why did you apply to become a Makanalani Intern?

T – I applied to the internship because someone reached out to me and told me about what a great opportunity it was. After researching the internship and praying about it, I was sure it was where I needed to be.

M – What is your favorite thing about the internship so far?

T – My favorite thing about the internship so far is the community. It’s been such a blessing getting to know each of the other interns and to be able to learn how to live in community with other people. The group is so special, we all work together so well and it’s been so amazing to see the Lord transform/grow us even over the course of three weeks.

M – What has God been teaching you since you arrived?

T – God’s been rocking my world since stepping foot on this island. I’d say the biggest thing I’ve learned so far is how to serve. How to serve the other interns, on the farm, and just in general I’ve been learning what it means to be a servant like God calls us to be. The Lord’s faithfulness is so great and it’s been an amazing experience so far. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store because I know it’s gonna be better than anything I can do on my own.

M – Where is your favorite spot on the island?

T – So far, my favorite spot on the island is Lumahai Beach. The view is stunning and the beach itself is pretty private so it makes for a perfect beach day.

M – What advice would you give to someone who is interested in applying?

T – If you’re thinking about applying I would definitely recommend praying about it. If the internship is where the Lord wants you, He’ll make it so clear and help you with the rest!
