New Restaurant, New Interns, and New Babies!
2018 is looking bright for Makanalani and all its happenings! The new restaurant, Chicken in a Barrel, is moving along nicely. Old carpet has been replaced with new flooring, kitchen equipment is arriving, and the hiring process has begun. Jim Smith is our new restaurant manager, and we welcomed him, his wife Michelle, and their daughter Savannah into the Makanalani family last month. We are narrowing in on an opening date, and the excitement is building!
Our Spring Serve Session has begun, and we have an awesome group of interns committed to serving Makanalani and the community of Kauai for the next 3 months! The word is getting out, and applications keep coming in for future sessions. Please keep these interns in your prayers while they work hard, grow in their faith, and serve one another.
Spring has come early here at the farm! Not only do we have a new, fluffy, baby mini-donkey, we also welcome Hunter Jacobs to the Makanalani family! Hunter was born on December 20th, and both mom and baby are doing great. God continues to amaze us with the blessings he pours on us, and we are so grateful to Him!
