Free CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Training

Once again the good people at Kauai Fire Department are putting on their fantastic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Course.

CERT is a six-week disaster and emergency preparedness course that is tailored to citizens and taught by firefighters. While this may sound a little frightening it’s really just about being prepared. While we are blessed enough to live on one of God’s most beautiful islands we also get a fair amount of interesting weather. This course can help us all be prepared for if and when that happens.

CERT is free to residents as part of a program sponsored by the Kauai Fire Department and the Kauai Emergency Management Agency. Participants will learn about different types of disasters and how to prepare and respond to them while keeping themselves and others safe. The course is held at Kauai Fire Department Training Center, 4444 Rice Street, and will be every Wednesday from January 10th till February 14th, from 5:30-9:30 pm.
