It’s that time of year again. The summer tourists have left and the book sale coffers are full again with donated goods! The next library sale will be at Princeville Public Library on Saturday, September 9th, from 10am till 4 pm. With all books half price after 2 pm and all kieki getting to choose a free book.
Have you ever taken the time to think about what an amazing thing the written word is? There are at least 3866 languages that use a writing system and as of September 2016 the Bible has been translated into 636 languages, with the New Testament alone into 1442 languages and parts of the Bible or its stories into another 1145 other languages. This is an ever growing number that shows more and more people are getting to hear The Word, which is wonderful.
Reading is one of life’s simple pleasures, whether it’s to yourself, or out loud to friends, family or keiki, a fictional novel or the word of our Lord God Himself. It’s a great way to learn, and to help others. This is why we are such fans of our library sales and love to support them, there really is no better place to replenish your book shelves.
It’s not just tourists who donate either, although thanks to their generosity we can always be sure of shelves full of the latest summer blockbusters, but also residents clearing out or moving off island. In fact if you have spare books yourself or are stepping over piles as you make your way around the house you can donate too, the libraries are always looking for donations, just find the one nearest to you. They will always be happy to accept books, cds, and dvds.
