Maybe you think we’re being foolish with that title like this verse from Matthew 7:24-27
‘The Wise and Foolish Builders
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”’
Now we’re lucky enough to be living on a rock, a very beautiful one too, and our foundations are as solid with God as this rock we live on. But just for fun, and if you didn’t have to live in it, would you like to build a house on sand and out of sand?
On Saturday, August 12th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm you can take part in the Hawaii Sand Festival & Sand Castle/Sculpture Contest held on the beach in Hanalei just to the left of the pier. And you can make anything you like, a dream home, a castle even, maybe you prefer animals, so a dog, cat or even a dragon! The great thing about this festival is that you can make anything you want, as part of a team or on your own, just use your imagination.
The festival and contest is open to all ages with separate judging for single, group, adult and keiki builds. So relax, build and enjoy! The organizers suggest taking sun block, drinking water and the whole family (a tent can also be a good sun block) along with your crafting supplies, and if you want to know more, click here to go to the website.
