Get Into Your Sanctuary!

A sanctuary is a place of refuge or safety and it can mean many different things depending on who you ask. For some family may be their sanctuary to go to in times of stress, or their local church, others may go directly to prayer as we all know God has all the answers.
Others may take the question a little deeper, here again the church is a perfect example of a sanctuary. In times of trouble our churches are always on the forefront offering support and help to all who need it.

This is a different kind of sanctuary we’re talking about here, this one is about whales, our graceful and majestic annual visitors. And a sanctuary in that we can all take some time out from our busy lives to spend time with them. Sadly they aren’t with us yet (we have to wait until November for that) but you can experience the wonder of the whales at Princeville Public Library on Saturday August 12th from 1-2:30 pm when they will be showing the award winning movie “Humpback Whales”.

The movie which is narrated by Ewan McGregor, ‘incorporates the best that IMAX films have to offer: impossible photography, entertaining music, and an instructional narrative that creates a positive visceral experience. With footage filmed in Hawaii, Tonga and Alaska.’
After the film there will be a make and take Origami whale activity that keiki are sure to enjoy.

So take a little sanctuary for yourself, and spend some time with the whales at this free event.
