Camp Good News & More!
We sure are spoiled here for summer camps, and what a great selection we have too! We’ve come across these on our wanderings and wanted to share them with you. We hope you enjoy them.
First up is Camp Good News from July 10-14th. They’ve been sharing the news of the Bible and providing the youth of Kauai with a fantastic overnight camp experience since 1983. Providing mentoring from counselors the camp gives the chance to build friendships, and explore and expand upon your relationship with God.
With a Samurai vs Ninja theme it’s suitable for keiki aged 5-15. Come to train our youth in way of The Master Supreme Grandmaster, Jimmy, Son of John! The camp costs $250 and you can save $50 by referring a new Camper that has not attended Camp Good News before and for each additional child.
For all you equestrians out there we have Healing Horses Kauai’s Summer Horsemanship and Riding Camp from July 10-14th and 17th-21st. Offering fun filled equestrian adventures where you will get the chance to learn: riding, leading, grooming and tacking, horsemanship and horse behavior along with other equestrian crafts.
Suitable for keiki aged 4-14 the camp costs $45 per day but if you attend for more than three days, or if two or more siblings attend then that goes down to $40 per day.
Sticking to the animal theme we have Kauai Humane Society’s Summer Critter Camps from July 10-14th & July 24-28th. Keiki aged 7-12 can learn hands-on about the shelter, the animals, and humane education. There’s also dog training, arts, crafts, games, outdoor activities, socializing with shelter animals and educational speakers on offer.
A camp session is $175 and they are also offering early and late pick up or drop off for $10 per day. You can register by calling 632-0610, ext 103, or by visiting kauaihumane.org/critter-camp
Lastly (at least for now) we have something more artistic. Sudeeka Summer SEEDlings Camp runs from 8:30am-1 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays from July 7th to the 30th.
This is a Bellydance inspired camp for girls aged 5-7 held by Ariel Poling and Sol Love from Sudeeka Bellydancers. Although Bellydance is the main focus girls taking part will also do: playing with veils, stretching, hooping, small art projects and meditations as well a learning a short choreography that will be performed at the end of the Summer SEEDlings Camp, on Sunday July 30th at the Golden Lotus Studio.
Have a great time!
