The Most Beautiful Run on the Planet

Well that’s what Hanalei Canoe Club the organizers of the 37th Annual Haena to Hanalei Run to take place on Saturday, June 3rd say anyway, and we agree. The 8 mile course from Ke’e to Hanalei is a wonderful scenic drive and we think the chance to experience it (safely) on foot is wonderful one.

Now don’t be intimidated, the run is 8 miles long, but it’s not the only one. There is also a 5k run that starts and ends at the Hanalei Pier, and if that’s not enough to have you reaching for your running shoes, both runs are actually Run/Walks so you can take your time and enjoy the beautiful views laid out by our Lord and Creator for us all to enjoy. I think the idea of walking this beautiful route with friends and family while giving thanks to God for the beauty and opportunity is a marvelous one.

And that’s not all, our keiki aren’t left out because there’s a youth run just for them. The one mile youth run starts and ends at the Hanalei pier and is open to all.

Hanalei Canoe Club will be laying on shuttles to ferry people to the race start, and every race and category has a different start time:
8-Mile Run/Walk Runners – 7:00 a.m., Walkers – 6:00 a.m.
There will be a free shuttle bus to ferry people from the Hanalei Pier to Ha’ena beginning at 4:45 a.m. Walkers be at the pier at 4:45 – 5:00 a.m., runners be at the pier at 4:30 – 5:45 a.m., at the latest.

5K Run/Walk Runners – 7:00 a.m.
This run starts and ends at the Hanalei Pier. The race can be run or walked but there are no separate awards.

1-Mile Youth Run Runners – 7:00 a.m., right after the 5K Run start
