Christmas Concerts from Island Schools and Keiki

Christmas sure is a time for some wonderful music. We are blessed to have many Christmas concerts from many of our islands schools and talented keiki coming up and we thought we’d share a few with you.

On Tuesday, December 13th, at 6:30 pm you can enjoy the 9th Annual CKMS Music Department Winter Concert. Featuring students from the band and chorus classes this concert is a benefit for Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School, and will be held at the school’s Kilohana Playcourt. On Wednesday, December 14th, at 6:30 pm Kauai High School Symphonic Band, Jazz & Ukulele Band & Chorus will be having their Winter Concert. With the theme of “Holiday Music” this promises to be a joy filled event. Held at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall this is another free concert although they will be happy to accept a donation. It’s going to be a tough choice on Wednesday, December 14th as there are two other concerts happening as well, these being…

Kapaa Middle School’s Winter Concert at Kapaa Middle School, on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30 pm. This is a concert with dinner, the Choir and Ukulele Band will perform, and you can join in with a spaghetti dinner beginning at 5:15 pm for only $6. Again this concert is free, although donations are accepted. Call 821 4470 x 136 to find out more.

Lastly we have Christmas Rocks, Wednesday, December 14th, 6:30-8:00 pm. This is Island School’s three choral ensembles, together comprising the Island School Chorus. They will take the stage to present their annual winter concert. Christmas Rocks! Showcasing over 115 students in grades 4-12 performing popular Christmas music that found its beginnings in rock ‘n’ roll and pop music. At KCC PAC tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youths aged 3-17, you can find out more by visiting their Facebook page.

Come along and support our keiki at these seasonal concerts! You’ll be sure to have a blast singing along!
