Have you heard of a canoe plant festival before? Well neither had we. But it’s part of our fascinating history here on Kauai.
Canoe plants are plants that were transported by the ancient Polynesians in their canoes to other Pacific islands. We can only imagine the joys that these ancient navigators felt upon first seeing the emerald peaks of Kauai, and that further joy when those carefully transported seedlings took root, and grew.
You can join in with these festivities at the Malama Kauai Community Farm on Sunday, October 16th, from 10am-5 pm. And best of all, it’s free for children!
