20th Annual Coconut Festival
How much do you know about the coconut? This weekend you can find out all your ever wanted, and more about this miraculous nut – which is botanically called a ‘drupe’ or ‘stone fruit,’ and not a nut! At the 20th Annual Coconut Festival.
Come along to this Free event, and celebrate creation in abundance. As a young fruit its coconut water will quench your thirst, and when ripe its meat your hunger. And its not just the fruit, no part of the plant goes to waste thanks be to our wise creator. The leaves can be used to build shelter, and the fibers for caulking ships and making rope are among its uses.
Running from Saturday, October 1st, 9am-5 pm, and Sunday, October 2nd, 10am-4 pm, at Kapaa Beach Park you can expect to find, cultural displays, history, cooking demonstrations, games, and of course food!
