Fellowship of the Whales

Yet another great event at our public libraries, in this case Kapaa.

The film Fellowship of the Whales will be shown on April 22 at 7 pm.

Here’s a short description of the film:

“Over the course of one incredible year, track the comings and goings of a baby humpback whale as she learns survival skills from her mother, migrates thousands of miles from Hawaii to Alaska and cooperates with other whales to capture enough food.  This beautifully photographed nature documentary provides fascinating details about humpback feeding patterns and the subtleties of their well organized society.”

This PBS film is perfect for Kauai where we are blessed by our yearly visits from the humpbacks.

From the Prayer of Azariah:

“Bless the Lord, you whales and all that swim in the waters; sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever.”

We bless the Lord & bless the gift of whales, the gigantic creatures that bring so much joy to our lives & keep our oceans in balance.
