Women’s History Month at the Kauai Museum

Next week, March 9, there will be an event celebrating Women’s History Month at the Kauai Museum Courtyard. The event will run from 5-7 pm & light refreshments will be served.

We have hosted ecumenical women’s conferences at Makanalani & we think it is important to draw attention to the too often neglected contributions of women to society, so we’re very happy to have this event happening on Kauai.

The program will feature speakers from the many ethnic communities that make up Kauai, including Aletha Kaohi Goodwin, representing the Hawaiian community, Dimples Kano, from the Japanese community, Dr. Geri Young, representing the Chinese community, Linda Pieratt, from the Portuguese community, and Norma Doctor Sparks, representing the Filipino community.

Cindy Combs, who is a fabulous slack key singer & songwriter will also be performing.

If you are going to be on Kauai next week, this is a program well worth attending.
