Children’s Bibles

A few days ago we shared with you some verses about children from the Bible. Well, what about sharing the Bible with children & youth?

Fortunately, there are many many versions of the Bible from traditional to contemporary designed for all age groups. Here we share with you a few of our favorites.

The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones takes an interesting path. It “tells that Story beneath all the stories in the Bible. From Noah to Moses to the great King David, every story points to a Child. The one upon whom everything would depend…” By relating all the stories of the Bible back to the most important story of Jesus, this little book provides food for thought & inspiration for adults as well as children.

In addition to the important message, we really enjoyed the cheerful art.

Of course, not everyone these days, & especially not the keiki, really want a hard back book… So how about a Bible App for Kids? Well, it’s been done & it’s great & even better, it’s free. You can find out more here, or just look it up in the Apple App Story, Google Play or

This one also excels in the quality of the illustrations — they’re colorful & fun, addicting to the stories told. There’s animations, games & activities. A great way to let kid’s experience the Bible in their lives.

If you are looking for a traditionally illustrated children’s Bible with beautiful pictures, The Complete Illustrated Children’s Bible by Janice Emmerson fills the bill. The illustrations are absolutely stunning & there are more than 300 of them. This is a perfect book for young children; it’s sure to keep them enthralled for many hours. The stories are easy to understand, but they convey the important meaning of each passage.
