In thinking about Christ & Christmas, we came across this wonderful story from Brennan Manning’s The Relentless Tenderness of Jesus.
It seems that Mr. Manning was stuck in Chicago airport. He was waiting for a flight to Texas for a weekend retreat, but there was a storm & all flights were delayed. People were complaining, loud speakers were blaring, the ticket counter was swamped, children were screaming… the typical airport scene, except…
One woman was cradling a child in her arms & laughing. Mr. Manning asked her, “Would you mind telling me why you’re so happy?”
“Sho,” she said, “Christmas is coming and dat baby Jesus—He make me laugh.”
What a wonderful story this is to remind us of the joy that is The Lord.
During these busy Christmas times, take the time, always, to remember the gentle Jesus & what he sacrificed for us all in pure love, & go about your activities with Jesus in your heart. Nothing is more important, today & every day.
