There are two types of instruments that are typically Hawaiian, the slack key guitar &, of course, the humble ukulele.
You may think of a ukulele as only capable of traditional music like that performed by the great Don Ho — well, Jake Shimabukuro can give you a whole new perspective on the instrument & what can be achieved with it.
He’s performed with many other artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler, Cyndi Lauper, Jack Johnson, Ziggy Marley, Dave Koz, Michael McDonald, Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, Tommy Emmanuel, and Lyle Lovett – as well as orchestras around the world.
Like Makana, Jake performs all over the world, so look for him in your town. On November 5 he’ll be in Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY.
