“The word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. ” “Ah, Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.” But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD. Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth.”
Jeremiah 1:4-9
Although this is a personal passage, God has the same message for us all — to go forth & do good, spreading His love, without fear or hesitation.
“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13
We are all tempted at times… but along with the temptations, comes the strength & love of God that allows us to overcome all temptation as we strive to be more Christ-like in our daily lives.
“Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.”
Romans 13:13
Use the strength of the Lord to overcome whatever temptations are set in your path. The way is clear, the road straight — God will illuminate the proper choices if we allow Him into our hearts.
