Ulu Pono Kids

What is Ulu Pono Kids?

Just another great program from our friends on Oahu, Surfing the Nations.

Ulu Pono means To Thrive on a Righteous Path, & this is exactly what Surfing the Nations is doing. The program meets after school and helps the kids of Hawaii, our keiki, work on their homework, learn more about the world around them, their friends and neighbors, &, of course, have fun.

They even provide art lessons, which is a wonderful service, since so many schools have lost their budget for the arts. We at Makanalani know that art & the truth & emotions it can invoke, is a very important part of the development of any young person.

The support learning about Polynesian culture as well, through dance & music.

The Surfing the Nations art show at the end of each semester is always as exciting time, where the students can display their work to their families & the community.

If you are on Oahu, stop by to visit Surfing the Nations. If you have a child who may be interested in the program, they meet at the following times:

  • Wednesdays: Elementary school age 2:30 – 4:30pm
  • Thursdays: Middle school 3 – 4:30pm
  • Fridays: All ages 3 – 4pm
  • Saturdays: All ages 12 – 3:30pm
