Purple Striped Honu Theatre for Kids is Looking for Young Actors & Actresses

Purple Striped Honu Theatre produces plays for children & youth of the island. If you have the acting bug, this may be your big break.

See their press release below:

The Purple Striped Honu Theatre for Kids is in need of an actor/actress for its winter production of two plays:

Cats and Bats by Rick Averill. Lucy the Calico Cat is extremely content, until her owner Nolan brings home a new “baby brother,” Belfry the Bat.

Wild Cat and Hyena by Stephanie Routman. Wild cat from West Africa unknowingly builds the same house with Hyena. They think the house is helping to build itself.

Commitment involves:
— Six 1-1/2 hour rehearsals over three weeks in February.

— Approximately eight performances; scheduled on Monday and Friday mornings in March through April.

Purple Striped Honu Theatre bring its company to various preschools on Kauai. Each play is about 10 minutes long.

Join the fun with theater for the very young audience. Today’s little ones can be tomorrow’s theater lovers.
And… Purple Striped Honu Theatre takes its mobile puppet theater, its “Puppet Hale” to outdoor family events.

If you are interested in working with their wonderful puppets, give Richard Porto a call at 808-826-7552 or email him at purple.honu@hotmail.com

You can find them on Facebook, too.
