The Banana Poka RoundUp

Come on up the hill to beautiful Kokee and do God’s work and help protect Kauai from invasive vines by taking part in the Banana Poka RoundUp!
This Family Forest Fair takes place on Sunday, May 26th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm and is fun for all! First you start by collecting the invasive Banana Poka vines, and did you know this festival has become so successful that the hunt for the vines is now a big thing as they themselves are becoming endangered!
Next enjoy the fun and festivities as you learn how to turn these invasive vines into useful and beautiful baskets while enjoying: games, exhibits about the forest, guava walking stick decorating, a silent auction, yummy snacks, and much more such as the Bird Parade where keiki dress up like our colorful forest birds following the Russell da Rooster crowing contest and live entertainment from Nick Paul Togioka, Darryl Gonzales, Nick Castillo, and ʻOʻiwi!

And it’s all free! You can take the shuttle to CCC Camp from Kokee Museum as there are no parking or drop offs allowed. Also you’re asked to wear good shoes as the driveway and parking areas at Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow are packed gravel with some uneven areas. To find out more about this and other events at Kokee please click here to be taken to their website.
