We just had a fantastic Spring Break! March 2025 has truly been a blessing. Welcoming over 100 youth from all over the Hawaiian Islands and bringing them together for retreats of community and fun! Please join us as we share about Spring Break 2025!
An Overview of March 2025
March 2025 was one to remember! Over Spring Break and the entire month of March we welcomed over 100 keiki through our doors through different retreats and school trips! There were highlights from all over the farm. Making memories with activities in the game field, night hikes around the farm, mini donkey visits, utilizing the new pickleball courts, slip and slides, and arts and crafts in the house! These kids kept busy and had amazing experiences through spending time out in the nature of North Shore Kauai.
We are extremely blessed by the testimony of these youth and their experiences. Truly an inspiration on how God is using our next generation!
Mini Donkey Visits
The mini donkeys have been extra spoiled lately! Getting lots of extra treats through visits from our guests. Sunny days, beautiful scenery, and adorable mini donkeys all add up for the best picture opportunities!
Slipping and Sliding through the Sunny Days!
The Slip and Slide got a lot of use this month! There is something special about making memories with friends on these sunny days while plummeting down a hill at top speed. Each day we broke out the tarp was filled with laughter and joy!
Fun and Games!
There are always opportunities to have fun in competitive and cooperative games! All of the spring break groups took advantage of the game field in rain or shine! Playing volleyball, pickleball, gaga ball, or 9-square, and others relaxing in the shade on the swings or up in the tree! Indoor or outdoor, there are always ways to create and play games with friends!
Arts and Crafts
It’s always a blast to take time to be creative! The kids with Ken-Yen Learning Center took the opportunity to create in a multitude of ways. From coloring ceramic plates, tye-dye, building, and baking their own pizzas in all shapes and sizes!
Night Hikes
We had a couple of fun Night Hikes this month with St Theresa School and Kahili Adventist School! A fun time to take the young ones around the farm to take in the beautiful nighttime weather and see a sky full of stars!

Hawaii Leadership Residency
Hawaii Leadership Residency has had a busy month! This month they got the chance to work with our local community over spring break! Working hard and serving with the groups by leading activities, playing games, and simply being present and willing to help wherever the needs are for each group. We are incredibly thankful for their hard work in helping make this Spring Break even more special for every child that has walked onto our property!
Outside of their work and service to support Makanalani, this crew has continued to dive deep into God’s Word through their curriculum of teachings and discipleship. And to wrap up the month, they even got the chance to spend a weekend at the Kids House themselves to get to experience a bit of what they work so hard to provide for! A thank you for their time and investment into our ministry, and some needed rest as they bookmark an incredible season of their lives!
