Helping Our Island Community Recover

Since the devastating storms of the weekend so many people have donated – whether this be goods for those affected or with their time, this really shows the aloha spirit and God’s hand guiding us. We’ve seen people being ferried from affected areas in helicopters, boats of supplies going out to those who need help, it really is wonderful to see so many people helping others, as the Bible says,

Acts 20:35
‘In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”’

Hebrews 13:16
‘Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.’

Luke 3:10-11
‘And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?” And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”’

Many of us want to help but are not sure how, firstly we suggest offering prayers, then contact your local church to see if they have any events planned for helping, also the local food banks, Surfrider and Malama Kauai are taking donations and they can tell you what people need the most. Malama Kauai are also organizing volunteers to help out.

A lot of the latest information is on social media, so we’ve got a few links to share with you so you can find out who and where to help.

All of these links are for Facebook:
